Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs): The Burning Questions
2010 Summer Workshops
Date:
Venue:
PAHs are prevalent in soils in many urban areas of the UK and can arise from a variety of sources, including the historical legacy of burning coal. This workshop aims to:
- identify the key uncertainties in the assessment of risks to human health from PAH’s in soil
- find where there is (and is not) consensus of opinion on how these uncertainties are best managed in the risk-based decision-making process; and
- provide recommendations for possible further research to address any outstanding issues.
The event will be structured with thought-provoking presentations in the morning followed by an afternoon of break-out session discussion groups.
